1. CartaStoria.com expects that the spreadsheet is prepared in a certain format.
First 4 columns must be prepared as shown below with the same sequence (origin address/city, origin country, destination address/city, destination country).
Columns after first 4 can be set freely to put all categories in your research.
Any number of categories can be entered into the list. You can list them starting from column E.
First row will be read as heading. Please enter titles of the columns in the first row.
2. Format of your data is imporant for the analysis by CartaStoria software.
It is recommended to enter addresses in English and/or without non-English letters.
Commas ',' are not allowed in the spreadsheet. This will cause an error when your file is read by the software.
3. Coordinates of your addresses will be identified automatically. But your input must be recognizable by the software.
You can either enter a full address or only a city name for columns A and C.
If there are unclear address remarks, those lines will be ignored by the software (you will be informed about unread items).
If the exact address is not crucial for your work, it is safer to use only city names.
4. Save your file
Your file must be saved in .XLSX format. Other formats can not be read by CartaStoria (yet).
